Boatless, on the hunt for a Sea ray 190 Sundeck
Engines
Boatless
My wife and I are currently moving onto a lake. I was thinking a 190 sundeck would be perfect because is kind of two boats in one. Enough room to layout and just sit like a pontoon and a speedboat to pull skiers etc. I love the layout of the "lounge" seats one captions chair. Anything you guys would suggest that I am not thinking of? I personally have never owned a boat.

Welcome and congrat's on taking the first step towards boating!

Search these forums for information on Sea Rays and the baot you are thinking of in particular as you'll find a wealth of information here. Then, decide what you want in a boat and start looking. There are lots of boats available if you look (Craigslist, eBay, Marine Max, etc.).

Good luck!

You have found a great source for asking questions about your Sea Ray that is for sure! Welcome!

We had a 220 for a few years and it was my first boat and we loved it! We had the 5.0ltr engine and she was great on gas even skiing or just cruising all day.

You just can not go wrong with a Sea Ray!:thumbsup:

Our first boat was a 190 Sundeck and we loved it. We moved up to 240 Sundeck to handle larger water (Chesapeake Bay) and lager kids.

If we were on a lake with house I think it would be the ideal boat.

Thanks everyone. We are very excited. Just not having much luck finding the right one, found a couple that are about 10-15 hour drive away. Hard to buy something without looking at it in person. You know?

Its a great boat... We love it... I like that it does not have a head because there is less to maintain, and I don't have friends wanting to use the head I don't have... It has been a great boat for us. We use it to water ski and tube. I have a stainless steel prop that that gives me more out of the hole power for puling skiers. The only thing that is not working is my trim indicator, which I plan on replacing this summer...

I have a 02 19' sundeck. Any one have a resource for side curtains for the sunbrella?

Call Great Lakes Canvas in Tenn... I got my 190 canvas from them... They were half the price of the local canvas shop... Ask for the CSR 20% discount...

We bought a 2005 200SD last spring and love it. Lots of room and storage with 4 - 6 people on board.

The 5.0 MPI gives enough power and is not too hard on fuel.

We tow the boat around almost every week ends and we find the size and weight to be perfect.

Good luck finding your boat !!
