190 Sport Mercmonitor

Took me a couple years to pull the trigger but after a warning tone a couple weeks ago (that left us slowly returning to the launch from 15 miles away) I thought it was time. Ordered the Mercmonitor and extension cable from an Ebay seller. You also need a male to male plug to join them. Removed the speedometer and put the monitor into the dash. On the 190 there are little plastic chrome shields over the top of each gauge. I was able to replace the shield but it slightly blocks one of the Mercmonitor buttons. I will need to pull it out and Dremel it a bit.

Connected the included air temp gauge and the NMEA 0183 network to my Garmin plotter. Powered it up and it auto detected my 4.3 and saw a notification that the time was updated by GPS (yay I hooked it up correctly). Spent 30 minutes or so going through the menus and attempted to calibrate the trim and fuel tank but I suspect that I do not have the correct senders/sensor to pass on that info. I am hoping once I get in the water the depth from the GPS will be passed on to the Mercmonitor also. Overall a very nice unit - recommended.

Anyone know what digital trim sender I need to get the trim to show on the Mercmonitor?
