I am looking at the 2010 sport boats and am considering the 195 with the 4.3 liter 220hp with alpha drive. I understand that the 195s have not been great sellers because they are so close in size and offer the same power options as the 205 and are skinnier at the beam. The salesman told me because most people opt for the similarly priced 205 they will no longer be offering the 195 after this model year. the dealership told me they took a tape measure to the 185 cockpit and the 195 cockpit and could not find the size increase in the 195 cockpit. of course this dealership did not have a 195 in their inventory and were trying to push me to the 205 sitting on the showroom floor. the 205 is nice, but I have concerns about how it will fit in my 20' deep garage and the styling of it is not much diffrent than the 176 that I bought in 2001.

I would like to hear from you guys with the 195s and 185s to tell me which way to go.

If the only difference is a few inches and 30 hp I might have to lean towards the 185 for better garage space and lesser price!

Unless you have the ability to angle it a LOT, The 185 will not fit in a 20' garage either...even with a swing-away tongue. I have a 22' deep garage and my old boat, 2003 Larson LXI 190 (18'6" OAL), BARELY fit and I had to angle it. The knuckle at the swing-away tongue cleared my door by about 2" with the drive down and against the rear wall with the boat angled about 15 degrees. I decided to buy a nice full mooring cover and I kept it in the driveway.

Oh crap! I need to look at that! I have a tree car carage so I have a little more room to work with horizontally, but my wife told me that she WILL be parking in the garage as well! I better head to the dealership to measure.

Both models are great boats!!!

I am able to back my 185S straight into the garage and still have room for the truck. I have to play with the out drive a little (turn to the side and trim down) but it fits with a few inches to spair. I have the 190hp TKS, the 220hp MPI would be sweet!!! We love ours, and it has plently of room for 5-6 adults and some kiddos. The newer models also hav beter storage.

I also have a 3-car garage. 3rd stall is 20' deep and double stall is 22' feet deep. Also, check the OA width of the trailer. My Larson was 8'6" wide at the fenders and would NOT fit through my 8' wide 3rd stall door.

Damn man you are bumming me out! LOL thanks for the advice I will be sure to get that measured before I buy. It sounds like the 195 is a bridge to far at this point.

I thinik that is a great idea! I know you are opposed to AC, but let me tell you, a generator and AC are a nice thing to have in Texas!! You can always not use them if you don't want to considered a "Candyass.":smt043

Nah, I am a candyass....I'll cover shipping charges for my boat and you cover yours, ok?

Before you make your final decision, try to sit in all 3 models. We considered the 185, 195 & 205 and decided that we like the 195 the best. Couple things.....
V8 is available in the 195, there is a noticeable difference in size between the 185 & 195, no extended swim deck on the 205, storage obviously gets better with each step, the ride in chop gets better with each step, etc.... There is really no way to get exactly what you want without trying all three. Good Luck

I have an appointment with Marine Max tomorrow to Broker it. if you are serious, I can email you the link with all of the pictures and the boat data with the abosulte bottom price I can take for it to clear my expenses. probably around $25,900.

Send me some more info about your boat when you have a chance.

I'm keeping my 185 sport in a 1 car garage that's only 19' 6" deep. It's a 2004 though and doesn't have the extended swim platform.

Tight fit, but turning the steering wheel hard over and trimming down, in addition to the swing away trailer and It fits.
