I've been searching and I'm having a problem find the mounting hole size of the rear speakers . Worst comes to worst I'll go get the boat and pull them out and measure, but i figured before I do that I'd check on here. Anyone on here that can help me out? I have a 2007 185 sport. Thanks!

AnitaMargarita07...

Don't know if this will help you out, but......

I have an 06 Sport 195... I replaced the rear speakers shortly after I got my boat.... I put in some Polk DB675's in the openings (6 3/4") AND had to enlarge the holes slightly....

Best case scenario... Pull one out of the boat and check the size.... Otherwise, you may also be making a couple of trips to the audio store with some "returns"...

Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Merge,

yeah I think thats what I'm going to have to do cause I can't find any specs on here. Not that big of an issue though. Thanks anyways!

Where did you get that front bow seat?? Or did it come with it? I have your same interior color and I've been looking for that front seat!

I'm 99% sure that the speakers are 6 1/2" speakers. That is what comes in almost all boats as standard equipment. Makes perfect sense that Merge360 had to enlarge the holes slightly to fit in 6 3/4" speakers.

@AnitaMargarita.... Bow seat came with the boat! Sent you a PM...

@TexasA&M... Seen those pics of your boat, with the LED's..... Looks great man! The blue is "Bling".... Great job!

No jigsaw... I used my RotoZip to slightly enlarge the holes.... Went back with my Dremel for a little bit of clean-up in those "not so perfect" spots!

If you have anyone that would be able to man the shop vac when you do this, it's going to help you out tremendously! Otherwise, there's going to be fiberglass and dust EVERYWHERE!

I had my brother-in-law work the shop vac as I cut, and clean-up was a breeze!

Hope this helps you out!

did you figure out the measurements for the rear speakers. I am about to upgrade my system also and wanted to make sure. I am also having a hard time even removing the grills. any suggestions as I don't want to damage anything. Usually the speaker grills just push and twist off.

Mine are all 6.5's..

Are any of you running subs? I was thinking of putting a 10" under the bench seat facing the bow.

i was looking at replacing the standard ones on my 185 Sport and the Fusion 6" template appeared just slight too small for the screws to hold judging the screw holes to template. I was thinking of the wetsounds but was talked out of it by a dealer as he said I should a sub and amps etc that would really do them justice. I haven't pulled the trigger on upgrades yet but think I will go for the 7" Fusion Speakers, The 4 channel Fusion amp and the active sub they do. This is because as discussed in another thread any many others there doesn't seem to be a good place for a sub without loosing storage.
