185 sport owners manual

I am a brand new owner of a 2008 185 sport. I bought the boat from a sea ray dealer about 3 hours from my house and I managed to make it out of there without checking to make sure I have an owners manual. I looked at the one posted on the sea ray website and while it had some good information it was missing a ton of information. I am looking for information like starting procedures, things to check before and after each outing as well as service intervals. Is there a place i can buy or download a manual that will cover all of this information? I have had a boat before but this is my first sea ray and my firs I/O motor so I just want to make sure I take care of it so it will last me a very long time.

I did take a look at the one posted on the sea ray site for my boat but it is missing a ton of information. I think what i am looking for is more users manual. The one on the sea ray site just has wiring diagrams and basic information about how to use the radio and where the gauges are located. I really need information on starting procedures, things to keep an eye on and maintenance schedules. I don't know things that i should be checking before and after each outing.

My boat came with three manuals. A systems manual, a sportboat owners manual, and a Mercruiser sterndrive manual. Maybe check with Mercury.

Ahh so the one on the Sea Ray website is just the owners manual. I will have to try and find the other two. That will be a start.

Why not contact the dealer and have them mail you the manuals?

I agree to go to the dealer. The one you want is the Mercruiser for the 4.3 engine. It will have info on the engine and drive systems, maintenance schedules, winterizing, etc.

Hi, Check your pm as I can send you a pdf manual for the Alpha 1 Gen II sterndrive. Unfortunately no manual for the actual engine.
