185 Sport Extra Bow Seat Cusion

Hey everyone,

This is my very first post on Club Sea Ray. I was wondering if any of you have ever purchased an extra bow seat cushion for a Sea Ray 185 Sport. I have a 2006 185 Sport and it only has two bow seat cushions as compared to some of the later models which now have 3. i would really appreciate it if anyone could provide me with details on how to obtain one.

Not sure if there is any design difference in the bow of 2006 185 from the 2010 185. You could probably go to a Sea Ray dealer and ask about ordering one of the newer bow seats. Or better yet, if you can find someone that has a newer one see if their 3rd bow seat fits your boat first.

I believe the bow seating design is the same from the 2006 all the way through to the 2010. Not sure if there are any aftermarket outfits that manufacture them?

Thanks for the input - I will check with Sea Ray but it might be a bit more $ than other places. Probably worth paying the extra cash to have one from the manufacturer though.

I'd love to find something like this for a 2004, but I've only seen them for the current (2006-2010) model.

You can make that yourself with:
* plywood
* upholstery and foam
* staple gun

I'm making one for my 1995 180 but I want the cushion to extend to the walk through. Plan on putting a hinged leg on it.
This would allow someone to lay out, prop their feet up and just enjoy the sunshine

You shouldn't have any problems ordering one from a Sea Ray dealer. There is no difference in the shape of the bow itself between an '06 vs. '10. However, there is a difference in the shape of the coushin between the years. My buddy just bought a 2010 185 and his bow coushin and I believe the backrest are slightly different than mine. I would suggest you try to locate maybe an '07 and then go to the dealer to see a new 2010 to see the difference and order which ever one you prefer. Mine is just held in place with snaps. Or as previously mentioned, you could have one made or do it yourself, I'm just not sure about the backrest.

Did you ever complete your project? I would love to see some pictures?

To reply to other posts, the bow shape is the same but the seat arrangement is different. My 2007 only has two seats and I saw later models with a third seat in the middle. It might be removable though.

It's funny about that bow cushion thing... My take on this is that I really dont miss it. I've thought about getting it... but... I have kids and frequently anchor at a beach (sometimes bow in, sometimes not). I really wouldnt want the bow seat since it interferes with getting on/off the boat and getting stuff scuffed and dirty. The clean fiberglass makes for quick cleanup and its a place to "rest" the anchor for a few seconds. I couldnt do that with a seat. Plus the kids typically sit and put their feet there. That might drive me nuts since I end up saying "do you live in a barn" or some other smart alec remark... LOL. that area is also a decent casting platform if you are inclined to fish. JMHO.
