Hi,first time I have been here and I need some help.We have a 2007 19" 4.3 190 hp Sea Ray with 50hrs. on it.Never had any trouble till the other day.I tried to start it and it was dead.No insterments, the dash was dead along with the ignition. No lights ,no horn,no gauges. The only thing that works is the trim pump, the battery is fully charged.I checked all the fuses on the engine and under dash plus all the wireing pluges.I can jump the starter with a screwdriver on the solenoid and it turns over so there is juice to the starter but thats it.Also checked the breaker, its ok.I did run across a thermal coupler back by the battery with a button on it ,pressed it but no help. Not sure what its for, something to do with heat?Boat ran fine the day before, all the gauges were in spec.Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Mark

Do you have a battery switch? If you do check it's position and cycle it.

Get a test light and check for power at the Batt terminal on the ignition switch. You apparently have some power or the trim pump would not work, it sound like you have lost power to the dash so check the power supply wires for power with the test light, check at the fuse panel, at the dash, at the ignition switch.

IF your getting nothing when you turn the key I would check there maybe that's gone bad.

I believe they run the power trim direct to the battery. But as Midway said get a test light and start checking if the battery switch is on. See if there is power to any of the wires behind the ignition switch.

I want to thank each of you for your time and thoughts on my problem. The boat does not have a battery switch. There is no juice to the ignition switch or the whole dash.I am going to go over it again tomorrow ,bad or broken wire etc. Thanks again-Mark

There'll be a big multy-way rubber connector in the engine bay which connects the engine to the rest of the boat including the dash. Check that. worth disconecting it and giving it a spray. Also the power feed to the dash is probably taken from the starter motor. Check the nothing has come adrift there. There will be a crcuit breaker near the starter relay (used to be on the front of the engine, port side). Sounds like something minor anyway.

Guys,I found it.The two small positive battery cables had broken inside their teminals. You could not tell they were broken by looking. They are straped together with the main batt. cable and looked fine till I pulled on them. They feed the dash and ignition switch. Thanks for your help! Mark

You are welcome. Now go have fun again.
