If I run a 32 inch LED television overnight on the two deep cycle house batteries, would I have a problem starting my port engine the next morning? Any thoughts? I'm thinking to replace my 120 v television with a 12v so I don't have to run the generator overnight. Or would I be better off occasionally running the generator and inverter to charge the batteries throughout the night? Thanks for any opinions!

I run my tv directly off my house bank all the time at anchor. Never an issue but it of course depends on what other draws you have.

Do you want to have the TV on all night?

I wouldn't plan on having it on all night, but I could never rule that out. The only other draw I would imagine would be the 12 volt refrigerator. I think in the worst case scenario if it drains the battery, I should be able to use the generator and the converter to charge the port batteries correct?

Correct.

I think you'll be fine. But you can check the wattage/amperage on the TV and do some simple math vs your batteries rating.

I once, as a test, ran three days (engine ran for about an hour or so the whole time) on a SINGLE gr27DC. Fridge went the whole time... lights at night... anchor light all night... vaccuflush use... some stereo along the way. Still started the engine just fine on the last morning.

But, as noted, you have options if it does kill the batteries... between the genny and the other engine you have nothing to worry about.

Another thing to try. Pick a weekend when you are just hoteling in your slip. Disconnect the shore power, and do some 'sperimenting.

I betcha the fridge would be the bigger item to draw power.
