Hi, All,

I can't get my 120V outlet working on my distribution panel for the 250SLX. Everything works 100% when connected to shore power. Outlets work, charger works, I am getting a good 120V read on the meter. But when I disconnect from shore power, the distribution panel just dies. Doesn't matter how many times I flip the switches (breakers), I simply can't get power when disconnected from shore power. Thoughts? (pic attached for reference, I know the switches are off in the picture...)

You won't have any power to your 120v system when away from shore power, unless you have a generator running. I'm pretty sure you don't have a generator in your boat so whenever you're away from shore power only your 12v systems operate.

Well, that makes me feel stupid. :)

I had wrongly assumed there was a 12v to 120v converter somewhere on the boat for when you were disconnected.

Adding a power inverter is an option but you'll most likely need to upgrade and add additional batteries. We used one for a hair dryer, charging cell phones and running lap tops.

Hah...you wouldn't be a boat owner if you didn't do something like this. I often wonder how many of us have lost years off our lives trying to problem solve "issues" of this sort. I spent 30 minutes in the middle of the lake trying to get an engine to start...only to find it was in gear the whole time.

Inverters are cheap if you're just looking to run small items like an inflator/deflator or the like.

I use this when I don't feel like running the generator:

I'd probably go for the 1,500 watt if I was going to do it again but 98.3% of the time this 900W is more than enough for me.
