10kts max limit on the Atlantic coast for vessels over 35'

I think that we should address the problem the same way they did with deer. Just move the "Deer Crossing" signs to an area that has little or no vehicular traffic. I mean this girl has it spot on!

Sure took the hosts a long time to get on board with her routine. I actually think they thought she was being serious, until the lightbulb went off in their heads at the very end.

This is just another government overreach for little perceived gains yet major imposition on the boating public. Next there will be a requirement to have an underwater speaker to broadcast warning sounds to the whales.

Maybe some Bee Gees hits. That ought to do it.

This will put a damper on those 70mph, 40’ CC’s!

Just another stupid answer from woke people who "think outside the box". I'm surprised they didn't mandate that all male off shore boat Captains in addition to going 10 knots must wear dresses and identify as gender neutral to the whales.

No one is going to follow this speed limit and short of AIS ......I don't know how you would enforce it.

I’ve been doing some reading on this, and one of the articles implied that they will be using ‘technology’ to enforce. Sounded to me like they are going to use both radar and AIS. You’d have to be an idiot to break this law with your AIS broadcasting. Of course, they’re going to need to get eyes on the vessel to determine the size of it if they’re using radar.

or maybe they’re going to require AIS on all vessels over 35’?

I could see that happening. The off shore fishing guys on THT (90% of members) are losing their minds over this. Said it will put charter boats out of business. I believe it. Will be a 2 day trip to canyons and back.

Imagine the irony when a USCG cutter makes sushi out of a few whales chasing down a speeder.

6 days to go to end the lunacy.

"decreased reproductive output"

Whale Viagra possibly?

I am all for saving these whales, but I dunno about this one.

No need to chase anyone down, just mail the citation to the address of the boat owner.

Let’s fix the energy crisis naturally with whale oil from the floaters.

They won’t have to chase them down. Just intercept them.

Read the full rule government vessels are exempt.
Of course…
