HI, My 2009 Sundancer 280 was running perfectly but hit 100 hours and we did the maintenance because it is under warranty and didn't want to risk that. Got the boat back and now starboard engine doesn't want to go above 2400 RPMs at full throttle ( previously fast to over 4000) but we ran at about 3400. Also twin engines are now not in sync but were perfect. Boat seemed fine in no wake zone through harbor but then we had this problem immediately IN THE OPEN WATER. Also there was a tiny bit of water in the bilge ( never HAD THIS before). This just happened yesterday so the certified Mercruiser dealer has not yet called back. What do you think they did to my boat? I GAVE THEM A PERFECTLY RUNNING BOAT AND 2400 DOLLARS AND NOW I CAN'T USE MY BOAT! ANY THOUGHTS? :smt009:smt009

What was done for $2400.00?

It was actually $1000 per engine. The additional money was to have my generator have its 1 years service. It looks like they changed fluids and did inspections. The boat was trailered out of the water so they could pull the drives for inspection. I called around here in SOCAL and I was actually quoted this amount and higher by the certified Mercruiser shops. I would have been happy to pay this amount if my boat still worked like it did before I had it serviced. Any ideas about what went wrong? The shop should be calling me soon and I would love a little bit of knowledge.

Wish I could help, but damn that seems high for just 100 hr service. I'll have to check my manual and see what would warrant pulling a boat for 100 hour service. Well obviously yanking the drives, but i'm just saying...... uhhhhh.. maybe they removed your good spark plugs and put in faulty ones????? that was a joke... I don't know, but I damn sure would have them jump on it and fix it ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All, The Dealer is in the OC with the initial NEWP--- Boat. I got an even higher quote from the other big Mercury Service place here Bots----- Loc---. Felt I had to stick with certifed guys because of the Warranty. Anyways , They have been working on it all morning and discovered that the wires that they installed from the manufacturer were faulty. Tomorrow they will check it again with the new wires. They have been very responsible throughout the day today, for what its worth. It sounds like once my warranty is up, I can do much better for pricing, eh? That's good to know. I will update you if I still have more questions after they sea trial it tomorrow.

Hi, I just had my boat serviced; 200 hours. Worked fine before, now will not go over 2500 rpms. I have a 5.0 MPI. What was the problem with yours?
