Just about to pick up my 'new' 84 EC 390. I was fortunate enough to pick a well cared for boat up from a guy who just bought a bigger boat and needed this one gone. The $25000 asking price was low enough I didn't feel the need to haggle. Next week, I will be 'driving' it down to Norfolk VA from Newport RI.... Any advice? I've got 5 years experience driving Navy partrol boats, but this is the first boat that will be mine....including the fuel bills:wow:!
Here is a link to some pictures. Nice to say, the boat is exactly how it appears...

Congrats on your purchase! There are many on the board with the same vessel so you will have plenty of folks to bounce ideas off of.

I'm sure you got a full survey so you are confident that the boat won't have any issues along your trip. I would be weary of taking an old boat a long way without knowing every nook and cranny and maintenance issue associated with the boat.

Wow! looks great! That is an awesome boat and I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. Lots of good info here about 390s. Look up the official 390s thread and also look up Pietro's thread about the restoration of his.

I went through the boat this weekend, and the survey starts tomorrow. I am also concerned a bit, but if I wasn't, then there would be something wrong with me!

I've been all over Pietros thread. Awesome work!

Welcome to the club! It’s an old classy lady that need some tlc, but it’s a great boat!

Just double check for any leak from the water tank, from the side windows and the windshield. Also check the fuel tanks for possible punctures underneath

very nice......good luck......

Well, I picked up "Sweet Patrish" or "Sweet P" as I call her on Tuesday, splashed her Wednesday, and have been underway ever since. She has been wonderful. I have also met some great people along the way, too. Right now, I am taking the day "off" in E Norwalk, CT. I have never been happier!!!

Boat looks good.
Might want to check the risers this fall on the 454s and the generator. Your wet mufflers look good no deposits on outside.

Congratulation, enjoy your new 390!!! You will find plenty of information and friends on this board! :smt038
Are you actually going to live on the boat???

Northern, The manifolds and risers are fairly new, along with the top ends being rebuilt. The blocks, however have 1300 hours. Needless to say, I am saving my pennies for new short blocks.

Pietro, yes....she is my home, too!

I've got about 330nm before I get there, though. Going it alone has be quite interesting...to say the least, LOL.

Hey "Shipmate", Good luck with the Sled! This is a great site for info and advice! Where are you going to keep her in YKTown?

Bugsy..... Another proud owner of a Small Craft Pin????? I am looking at York Haven. Close to NWS....My next command is RIVRON 3.
I pulled into Atlantic City NJ this afternoon. Heavy fog and 6-8"s..... Rough trip, and tomorrow doesn't look any better
