1" blinds in a 89 340 sundancer

Not in an '89 340, but I replaced the aluminum blinds in my boat with wooden ones. Hanging the blinds required some inventive thinking, but the end result was worth all the head scratching. It is hard to believe that something a simple as changing the blinds would update the interior look and feel so much.

Gotcha. Ok thanks, found a place Blindster.com. Good people to work with.

Yes please keep us updated on what you find out... thanks for the info Frank...

Im working on it. They want 2 1/2 deep to mount them. I have to measure them to see if they will fit.

For mounting on a boat, be prepared to think outside of the box. You are not going to have room for a standard window frame mounting and probably can't use the mounting hardware that comes with the blinds. On my salon blinds, I ended up drilling the channel and screwing then to the ceiling part of the valence box with #6 x 3" screws. in the forward compartment, I had to "invent" a mounting method. Every boat is different so that may not work for you. It was some what of a gamble to buy $450 worth of blinds but you can't figure out the mount until the blinds are in front of you. The up side is that once you buy the blinds, you are committed to making them work....some how.
