All my switches ( cockpit light, bilge pump, etc...) have a definite On / Off position and if On, light on the switch comes on.

Except the Engine Latch switch which is somewhere sitting in the middle of On/Off and light on the switch does not come on even during latch operation.. ( Latch works fine)

Is this normal is a new switch in order..?

Thanks

Do you mean the toggle to control the engine HATCH? Those are a "momentary" toggle - meaning you have to hold it in position for it to work. Safety feature.

Yes. Does the light on the tip of the toggle have to come on during operation or does it stay off. Thanks

I don't think I've ever looked that closely! But... does it "need" to? No. Is it supposed to? Not sure. As long as the hatch is opening/closing, I wouldn't worry about.

If I remember correctly, the tip of those toggle switches are very small LED lights that come on with the helm lights. I do not remember them coming on when powering the switches.

Yes, and they all come on.. little blue leds. Except the hatch lift .

On/off switches has light on them to remind you that they are in ON positio , so momentarily switch shouldn't light up. Depends on switch and boat wiring, there may be additional light on switch which is activated when navigation lights are turned on.

Makes total sense. Thanks
