07 280 outdrive problem

Anyone have a problem with their counter rotating drive breaking a tooth on the drive gear ? On family vacation and broke tooth on a alpha1Gen II drive 400hrs on boat Mercury won't do anything extended warranty ended in May going to try insurance. Any info would be great.

3-4 months out of warranty. Bummer! Try talking to dealer and ask for then to contact the Mercury Marine representitive. At least ask them to look at the gear. If it is a manufacturing defect maybe they will budge. Its worth a try.
