So today spilled a bottle of wine in the cabin. Half the cabin carpet is now red. Gives me a good excuse to do some updating.

Anyone changed their cabin carpet to teak or hardwood or something similar?

TIA!

Once you clean the carpet could aways make some snap out covers. While I was getting new carpet for the helm and swim platform I decided to redo the interior with the same grass cloth infinity woven nylon material.

that carpet will come up in 1" pieces......it is glued down - the floor is not fared either.....also, where your floor "bends" with the shape of the hull will be a problem......I agree with the clean and cover idea

I recently took on a carpet/teak conversion on a different boat that I own. First off, unless you plan on actually oiling the teak (not recommended by me for interiors), there is no reason to use teak. You will find that "real" teak is 5x more expensive. Many other species pass for teak in this in application. Secondly, I would say its not a job for someone without some serious woodworking skills and tooling. Third, you will never recover your cost and time, it must be a labor of love... But it would probably look great if done right. My project was done with traditional wood/caulk laminated to the sub flooring.

Here is more Infinity snapped over carpet. Just keep an eye on moisture getting trapped between it and carpet if you go this route.
