Hey all. Wanted to start a new thread regarding the prop shaft break to share info and pictures. You can read about the initial problem here: http://clubsearay.com/forum/showpost.php?p=248299&postcount=25
I had the boat hauled yesterday and took some pictures. Just as i thought, and as previous people have posted, the starboard shaft broke just behind the strut. The prop put a relatively minor gouge in the hull as she broke free but missed the rudder completely as she sank to the bottom of the LI Sound. I've taken a few photos of the shaft and the break is almost perfectly clean as is i sawed through it with a hack-saw. I'll be contacting Sea Ray today to see if there are any warranties i have on the boat will cover this, or if this is a defect that maybe they will help cover. Any input from the experts is always so welcome. I'll update this thread as i get info to share knowledge gained and any tips to consider. I know at a minimum, i need a new shaft and prop. Pictures attached ~Mike
