We just recently purchased 02 240 DA and still doing some much needed detailing. I scrubbed and cleaned out the transom storage. Wanted to wash down the compartment after cleaning and the only water I have access to in dry storage is the faucet connection in this compartment. Worked well using a collapsible hose until I ran out of water. Later I went down to cabin and when I stepped down on lower level, the carpet was noticeably wet. Looking for possible causes as to where this leak originated from. Still learning all the systems. Thanks.

"dry storage"... inside? If so, for how long? Was the carpet dry BEFORE you washed things down? How wet was it underneath the step?

A common source for that area is a leaking head window.

So you were cleaning out the transom locker but the cabin carpet was wet? If you were running internal water water pump are you sure that all facets in the cabin/head were turned off?

I have a 2002 280 sundancer. Step off stairs going into cabin rug was wet. My problem was the sump pump under stairs was plugged and switch was shot. There is a floor drain in head that runs to this holding tank ( I call sump) and a line from the air conditioner to this tank. Float switch was bad and water was running over getting carpet wet.
