5.0/ bravo 3dp
Just about to bring the new to me toy home. Any 240 specific forums here?
5.0 merc with bravo 3 dual props

And has anyone removed the carpet on the deck down in the cabin?

Do you have a 240 day or a 245 weekender. I have a 215 weekender. Love it. Didn't know that there was a 245

It’s a 245 according to the decals. I have found that searches here for that model come up with nothing. I wondered if it was a one off weirdo. Great boat though

The 245's were great boats. The reason you're not finding much info on them, though, is they just weren't a big "seller". At the time, the Sundancer version of that 245 wasn't much more money, but the Sundancer offered the midcabin, being a "cruiser" rather than a "cuddy".

So the 240 da would be a little better? . I'm curious because I want to go to a 260 da. I heard the 240 da had a list and didn't handle well. Was it a different hull than the 245 and the 240 da

Scott - shoot me a PM - so we don't derail this too far :)

Not sure yet about this one. Just getting familiar. What is the “da”. Is that the center console unit?

We would have preferred the dancer, because of the extra below deck room, but this one is too good to pass up

It's a beautiful boat

Not sure how a 2000 240sundancer handles but run as fast as you can from a 05'or newer hull of the 240

That's what I was getting at . why?

After i had a 06 240 sundancer for several years and had experience on similar 24ft cruisers ( maxxum , bayliner , rinker ) - it has the worst dynamic stability during planing i ever saw in a boat.

Anything less than a perfect drivetrim that you have to adjust constantly it will lean severly over , severe enough you are ready to jump . Getting on plane , speed changes , slightest waves or wind from the side - you are constantly fighting the hull tipping over side to side

since some pocket cruisers of that size might be a bit top heavy and need some adjustment this here will drive you crazy .

Next thing is the least space in cabin out of a 24 foot pocketcruiser in its class . The bed is borderline small for an adult , the midcabin just for a kid or baggage , the height in cabin and head below average in its class .
Further the midcabin lacks any ventilation or natural light , no porthole thru hull or at least into the step area of the cockpit . (The older 240 had a porthole around the galley and one in midcabin towards the cockpit )

on the good side : the gelcoat finish is very good , the styling is sexy .
