For the first time, I'm attempting to flush my raw water system on my QSB 5.9's. My question is, can I pipe a hose to the downstream port (1/4"NPT fitting just past the impeller) and run fresh water through the system without running the engine? I started doing this, but got paranoid...
What should I do to get a good flush on the different engine parts? I removed engine partitions to do maintenanace and check things that I normally can't get to and figured this would be a good time to remove hoses and start flushing engine parts.
