280 engine idling

I've noticed as late that the starboard engine on our 2004 280DA( 4.3 fuel-injected, alpha1) will not idle once it reaches operating temp. This is particularly vexing during docking. Is there anything that I do can to resolve this problem simply and without spending a for another service...
