One winter we left stuff in our refrigerator in the garage in the great winter of the north. I don't know why either, but we left diet soda - anything - it froze and burst. Regular soft drinks didn't. Beer didn't. Thats all I cared about anyway.
Where's Bill Nye the Science Guy?
On edit...
Ok... I'll say it again. Make sure you order EXACTLY what you want. Great Lakes Boat Tops will NOT honor it's 100% satisfaction guarantee. Once you get it, it's yours.
I'll keep saying it and hope it will save someone a hassle.
As Woody indicates, make sure you order EXACTLY what you want. Great Lakes Boat Tops will NOT honor it's 100% satisfaction guarantee. Once you get it, it's yours.
On my 95 230 there is an in-line fuse (red wire) right next to the battery... it then connects directly to the pos side of the battery along with the heavier starting cable and runs directly to the bilge pump. This is so the automatic float switch will come on even if the switch is off...
As I've posted before, make sure you order the correct item. Great Lakes Boat Tops will not honor their 100% guarantee. There is nothing wrong with the quality, just p*** poor customer service.
Agree with beachcombersc re: don't paint it! It becomes a yearly ritual and only applies to salt water for barnacles and other nasties. Ours is now on a lift and STILL needs to be re-painted, just to keep it looking ... OK. Almost all of our neighbors (salt) are not painted, are on lifts and...
There are two bolts that go into the gunwale (sp?). They can be accessed by removing the speaker and reaching in with a wrench. You might try slopping some Gorilla Glue in between the cushion and fiberglass and applying pressure for a few hours. Worked for me for about a year, then I finally...
Ok... so here's my story with Great Lakes Boat Tops. Take it for what it's worth. Bottom line, I still have a $400 cover that is not a fit. Note the dates and time lapsed!
On or around 5/23/07, I began the process, via internet, to order a new cover for our boat. By 6/14/07 I had confirmed...
You will difinitely want to make sure you order the correct thing from Great Lakes Boat Tops. Although they have a "100% satisfaction guartantee" ... it doesn't mean squat! The quality is OK, just, if you have a problem, they will not exchange or replace. Beware.
I intend to post this...
Make sure you order the absolutely correct cover. They will not honor their guarantee if you get the wrong thing!
Been there!
Still have the wrong cover.
I've gone ahead and done it myself. Other than finding rustproof stapes (finally did!) and a chunk of pressure treated plywood, it wasn't too bad. Made the curve by attaching "slats" to a galvanized band around that curve. This is how it was done in the first place. The hardest part was...
'95 Sea Ray 230 DA.
My sternside backrests have rotted out. These are the very back cushions that curve around both sides of the stern, above the swim platform with a chained passageway on the port side. Anyone know where/how to get replacements? I took them to a local upholstery shop and...
’95 Sea Ray 230 Sundancer 5.4 single engine.
Has 2 batteries on a switch (off-1-all-2)
Recently I’ve been having a problem with Bat 1 not having enough charge to turn the starter. About 2 months ago I wire brushed the terminals and sprayed with corrosion stuff as an annual maintenance...
Sounds like the beginning of the same problem I had. contacted Lowrance and they "sold" me an update/replacement for $ 99 or so. Unfortunately, it requires a new transducer as well as a new display. Not particularly hard to replace, except for epoxying the new transducer to the inside bottom...
I just replaced a Lowrance transducer and the location became "moot" ... the length of the cable was just enough to reach a spot just ahead of the engine. You might see if that will limit your choices?
By the way, it worked.
