Priceless advice thank you! I’m just nervous as hell about the thought of pulling the port motor every time this dude acts up!
I learned a valuable lesson! Never buy another boat with generator tucked away knowing how much service they need.
I’m not sure. I bought it this way. It appears to me that the water pump froze and sheared bolt off. Pics are of water pump pulley and backside showing sheared bolt. It’s a real MOFO to replace water pump because one bolt is started from top back middle of engine and it’s almost not...
the new to me twin 5.7 290 Sundancer had a bad generator when I bought it and I wanted it working so here’s the steps I took. I made several different measurements to see how and if it was possible to remove with engine in place, with removing manifold, remote oil filter and power steering...
It’s confirmed the generator will NOT come out of my 1998 290 Sundancer W/5.7 with port engine in place! Even with manifold, remote oil filter and power steering reservoir moved.
Be very careful if you get a Fever! They’re almost guaranteed to have a wet transom. I’m a huge powerboat guy! I have a few different types of boats and definitely prefer the express cruiser life. Going fast is expensive! I’m not talking about gas I’m talking about keeping reliable power...
Not sure if this is allowed or not!
I’m new, so I apologize if it’s a problem!
I’m looking for an Alpha One Gen 2 outdrive 1.62 that’s Counter Rotating. I’m in Cincinnati
I recently purchased a 1998 Searay 290 W/ twin 350 and Alpha One gen 2 drives. I’m sadly pulling port engine so I can get 4E Kohler generator pulled to have it overhauled. While sizing up this job I noticed the transom assembly looks pretty rough so I figured it was the perfect time to...
Thanks to everyone! Definitely appears to be 1.62. So glad to have the lower cost Alphas rather than the Bravo III I have in my other boat. Them bad boys are rotting in front of my eyes.
I have a recently purchased 1998 Searay Sundancer 290. Powered by EFI 5.7. The Alpha One Gen 2 outdrive look awful and port has big chunk of cavitation plate missing.
Now to the question…. What is the correct ratio? Starboard drive is stamped 162R, Port is not legible(counter rotating) From...
