    weak hot water pressure

I don't want to go in a different direction but I am having a problem with my Grohe Shower handle. There seems to be a leak in the fixture as I am finding a puddle under the floor in the 3rd stateroom. My question is how do I get the handle off the shower?

    Zyrex bottom coatings

For what it's worth, I sandblasted and applied Zyrex in the spring of this year. We boat in Georgian Bay and don't get a lot of growth, but when she came out in the fall we drew a crowd of onlookers asking what we had applied. It was a thing of beauty! We did notice an increase in...

    Water Box or Gas/Water Separator

Thank you for an extremely detailed description of claustrophobic hell Festivus. I have had two MRI's in my life and I am really looking forward to this installation. My genny is on the port side so I am thinking we have the same issues mirrored. At this point I have two choices, either get...

    Water Box or Gas/Water Separator

Great advice guys, particularly with regard to the water volume. While we are normally on Georgian Bay, we took a trip up the Trent to visit relatives and we were anchored in Pigeon Lake. The generator intake kept on picking on weeds. On two occasions I had to remove the hose on the intake from...

    Water Box or Gas/Water Separator

I am thinking of adding a Centek "water box" (gas/water separator) to my generator exhaust to quiet the splashing of the exhaust on my 480DB. Has anybody had any experience with these and how effective they may are? Thanx for your comments.

    My new WiFi/Cellular Network Design

Gary. Really impressive network. I also work on my boat. a couple of questions: 1/ is there anything you would change now that you have made this happen? 2/ How do you connect the Digital Antenna Combiner to the Verizon Modem? (I use a Rogers Stick in Canada) Harold

    Smell in Starboard Stateroom 480DB

Everytime I return to the dock, I run water in my sinks and obviously that forward drain box for about 1/2 hour because I know exactly what you are talking about. Harold

    Smell in Starboard Stateroom 480DB

    Smell in Starboard Stateroom 480DB

And there lies the problem. There is something holding those stairs in place. I had two guys lifting and I removed the stainless trim on top and while we could see them moving. They would not budge. Is there something fastening them down?

    Smell in Starboard Stateroom 480DB

Thanx Gary. I did discover that sump area under the bunk when my central drain box overflowed due to a faulty (clogged) float switch. I replaced the float switch and cleaned the box thoroughly and then vacumned out the sump under the bunk but my boat (which I think is the same as yours) has a...

    Smell in Starboard Stateroom 480DB

I have two questions that are related(I think). There is a funky smell under the aft bunk in our starboard stateroom or as the admiral calls it, the "laundry room". I know most onboard smells are usually related to dampness and have been trying to air it out without any great degree of...

Sea Trial on a 2003 480 Sedan Bridge

In answer to Dave, Saturday was a write-off. Three meter waves and 25 knot winds. (Understand that 3 meters on the great lakes is a lot more uncomfortable than ocean because of the closer waves) Sunday was much better. Lake Huron is relatively shallow so it tends to blow up easily. Georgian Bay...

Sea Trial on a 2003 480 Sedan Bridge

Thank you folks. I read all I could on the site and we went ahead with the purchase. We brought her home from Sarnia to Midland, about 230 nautical miles. Four Suns, you have some great info. I only hope I can share my experiences. ...more to come

Sea Trial on a 2003 480 Sedan Bridge

This is a great site! I have been reading and absorbing as much as I can. We are on our way to Sarnia this weekend to complete a sea trial on our newly purchased 2003 480 Sedan Bridge. It has the Cummins QSM-11. Obviously, the survey has already been completed. Does anybody have advice about...
