Sounds like a lovely trip!
Regarding the fenders, well it depends. I guess on the rivers we are going through locks fairly often it's not worth hoisting them onboard. Though in some parts of the Thames (like Henley) it is considered bad form to leave them dangling!
Oh blimey I go in those places. Although the Dolphin is now full of illegal migrants (very sad place). The OC is still doing well but my local is The Nelson's Head where we have great music gigs!
Hi, yes I get that, I was only wondering if it's removable as it would make a good access. I don't do planing or high speeds as I'm on a river in England (7mph max)
Hi all. I'm enjoying my Sundancer 240, which I've owned for only 2 months, and learning a lot about it. I'm puzzled over the bathing platform insert. Seems to me it's a way of accessing the stern drive but it won't lift out. It is clearly a separate piece from the platform but it's stuck solid...
Ah yes, that figures! I've found a contact who can supply recon rams at £100 each plus new hoses etc. so i can plan this job in now. Thanks for all the help. Much appreciated.
I think I'll go for new rams and hoses etc. I don't have the luxury of working on it in my own drive, rather the boatyard will have to slip her and I'll have to do the work and get her back in quickly. I won't have access to workbench etc...
All good fun eh? I guess one could make owning a boat a full time job! Anyway, thanks for all the help and advice. I'm going to try replacing both rams and hoses myself.
I'm guessing the power trim system is completely separate from the Trim Tabs hydraulic system, i.e. that it couldn't be leaking from there...? My reasoning that it's the Power Trim is based on the fact the oil reservoir pretty emptied over one weekend!
Thanks for the reply Phil S. Yes, it's leaking into the water. I hope it may just be a loose connection. The outdrive and rams had been serviced only recently too. I'm UK based and the boat has to be slipped (which will cost best part of £200 just for that). Was thinking of getting the goggles...
Hi. I've owned my 2001 240 Sundancer for a couple of months. When I bought it I saw there was some leakage from the hydraulic rams so the owner knocked something off the price. The leak is getting worse so obviously needs to be slipped and repaired but my boatyard can't do this for a few weeks...
Hi all. I have recently become the owner of a 2001 240 Sundancer. It's a lovely boat and I'm really impressed with the standard of build, but there are some things I'd like to change in the cabin seating area. I've upgraded from a 21 Bayliner Cierra and although the Sea Ray is more roomy, the...
