Hi, We have owned our boat for several years now and have clocked up 291 hours on it. 185 sport fuel smell

Hello, just wondering if anyone has had a fuel smell coming from a 2004 model 185 sport? It only seems to be intermittent when I open the covers after it's stored. When I get my nose close to the tank and hose area im sure the smell gets stronger but if I leave the covers open for half an hour...

Prop selection for a 2001 Sea Ray (Wakeboarding)

After lots of research we opted for the high 5 19p Prop on our 190hp 185 sport as we wakeboard with the boat 95% of the time. The results have been fantastic better out of the hole, it handles better and the fuel economy has improved. The top end may have dropped off a little but we never go...

Why did you buy a Sea Ray and what other boats did you consider?

I looked around for a long time and decided to spend a little more for the Sea Ray as the build quality is higher than the rest, we are really happy with ours. If you can go for the 185 with a V6 as the extra power over the 4 is worth it!

Changing 3lt for 4.2 V6 can it be done?

Hey just throw a spanner in the works, you may want to talk to CAPA or Castlemaine rod shop about fitting a low boost supercharger to your 3L it may just give that little bit more HP and be a cheaper option!

Where do you tow your tubes from?

Thanks for the input guys, I have found that from still towing from the hook I needed to keep the speed up and take off a lot faster. But the thing still shudders in the wake so I am wondering if the high five prop is creating a lot of turbulance, if I thought on the weekend I would have...

Hi we have just bought a 3 person sit in tube and we are towing it from the tow hook on the back of the transom but it tends to submarine sometimes when we take off and when we do get it going it shakes. The salesman said to tow it from the tower but i was a bit worried about how much drag the...

    Is high5 worth the money?

Yeah I have made some changes and have others in mind but havent got out to test them yet! The first thing I did was pour water down the carby with it running to clean out some carbon,I dropped the idle speed down and adjusted the mixture. This always worked on the cars ive had this problem...

    motor running on tooo long?

Ive got the running on problem too and i have thought about approaching a carburettor specialist to install an ignition switched solenoid in the idle passage to close it off when the key is turned off as they do in cars.I know it will be a tricky operation but i think it may solve a big problem...

    Is high5 worth the money?

Well i took the good advice (thanks everyone  ) and invested in a 19p High five last week, We tried it on the weekend and i was so impressed . The only thing it didnt do was change the planing of the boat around 18-20 mph i still needed to play with the throttle a bit to stay at a constant...

    Is high5 worth the money?

After ringing around to get prices i have had mixed responses and opinions on the High5 which is getting a bit confusing. Some dealers are saying i am better off with a 17p Vengeance cause having more surface area over less blades is better than chopping the water up with 4or 5 smaller ones...

    Is high5 worth the money?

Hi we own a 190hp 185 sport and are chasing better holeshot for watersports. The easiest way seems to be changing the prop we currently run a 19p Black max but i keep getting different opinions on what to buy and the high5 sells for $1000 here in oz.Does anyone run one of these props and is it...
