Was going around 12 knots, the engine indicator showed both engines equal, yet the starboard was about 1500 RPM higher than the port. The starboard RPM's lowered to the same as the port, then went up again. No adjustments were made to speed and indicator showed both engines still equal.
I finally got my the manifolds and elbows replaced with Mercruiser and works perfectly, no more smoke. I was shown the old manifolds and elbows. The previous owner had used some orange sealant on them and covered the water galleries.
I was hearing a squeaking noise from the starboard side of the bilge when the transmission is in forward. I found that the noise was coming from the carbon (grounded) brush that rests on the shaft. I have zincs on the shafts, do I need the carbon brushes also?
