    1988 Weekender 300

Was going around 12 knots, the engine indicator showed both engines equal, yet the starboard was about 1500 RPM higher than the port. The starboard RPM's lowered to the same as the port, then went up again. No adjustments were made to speed and indicator showed both engines still equal.

    Propeller Shafts - 88 Weekender 300

I was hearing a squeaking noise from the starboard side of the bilge when the transmission is in forward. I found that the noise was coming from the carbon (grounded) brush that rests on the shaft. I have zincs on the shafts, do I need the carbon brushes also?

    Oil leak?

Yesterday morning I started up my '88 Weekender and white smoke came out of the exhaust. There was a faint sweet odor with the smoke. The smoke eventually dissipated. I was out about 2 hours, practicing docking so low speeds. Both engines were about 150 degrees. This morning I checked the...

    1988 Weekender 300

I removed the broken Standard Horizon radio. I left most of the wires, power (bottom of fuse holder) and the speaker and Chart plotter wires. Attached a new radio, no power. Checked the power chord and the line that is secured to the back of the helm and there was no current. The breaker...

    1988 Weekender 300

Thank you. One of the selling points of the boat was it came loaded with electronics (radar, GPS, Autopilot) and the previous owner kept pretty good care of it until his health faded. I have a punch list of items to repair however, I believe this will be a fun journey.

    1988 Weekender 300

Just purchased a Weekender 300, my first boat. I have a couple of questions about this type of boat. Where would I find the circuit board the horn is inoperative and I want to check the fuse. When I start the boat do I move the battery switch from 1 & 2 to 1? Thanks for your help.
