    1978 260 Sundancer 12 volt house ground

Hello All, I'm in the process of rewiring and am separating the 12 volt house panel from the starting battery to it's own battery system. I'm going to use the old panel which has breakers for each circuit next to the switches. The panel itself has no ground connections, just the breakers and hot...

    Air Conditioner Question

Hello All, I have a 78 260 Sundancer that I've been working on and trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. I just finished with the shore power wiring so all the receptacles are wired and working. The boat has an air conditioner set up under the seat cushions which has a regular 3...

    Batteries/Wiring

I'm trying to figure out the wiring on my 78 260 sundancer and how I'd want the batteries and circuits set up. I saw this quote from 2017 here on Classic Sea Rays which sounds right to me. I'm curious if others agree or have any other ideas or suggestions. Appreciate any comments. Here is the...

    1978 260 Sundancer Toggle Switches?

At the helm about a foot or two below the steering wheel on the panel door I have a row of toggle switches that have jumpers between all of them. These switches on my boat have nothing connected to them except for one set of wires which may be what makes these toggles hot. Not sure yet on that...

    Old Heart Freedom 10 Interface

I'm trying to figure out if this thing works. I reset the interface switch to factory settings where it shows the battery charging switch as off. I read something on the internet about you're supposed to turn that switch on and off which sets up the charging for the battery. Still not clear on...

    1978 260 Sundancer Learned Alot

Hello All, It's a long story how I bought this boat but long story short they saw me coming and I did it all wrong. That was a few years ago. Anyway I decided to remove the motor, gimbal assembly, gas tank, water tank, etc. and had a surveyor come check it out. The good news is the transom is...

Removing the deck on 1978 Sundancer 260

Hello All, happy 4th. I'm making progress on my old work in progress and while I'm not quite there yet I was wondering how tough of a job it is to remove the deck on a 78 260 sundancer. It looks like a one piece floor from the helm to the transom. Heavy? Fragile? Can it be a one man job?

    Stringer repair

I was wondering what you experienced guys think of this. The link is a youtube video about repairing bad sections of a stringer instead of replacing the whole thing. I might be interested in going this route if I can get a yes that it looks good.

1978 Sea Ray 260 gas tank removal

I finally got the tank broken loose from the foam. The motor has been removed and the bulk head into the engine compartment has been cut and the damn thing still won't come out. Before I cut the bulk head into the cabin can anyone tell me if the tank can be removed via sliding it into the cabin...
