Went to the Trim-Seal website and requested a sample of 5 ft, also found it on the Flounder Pounder site. If I can't get the sample from Trim Seal I'll buy the FP stuff (will also check out McMaster as well). Thanks for all the help!
Thank you all for your suggestions. Regarding the condition, the pics don't show where it is deformed, but I agree, if I can't source a new one, I'll try to fix this one and re-install. I'll look into the Trim-Seal and report back my findings. Thanks again!
Hi - 2002 340 Dancer - below the the triangular hatch is a badly deformed seal that needs to be replaced. I looked at the SeaRay parts manual and the closest part I could find was 756858 TAPE, FOAM SGL FACE BLK VINYL 3/16"X 1/2". The actual part doesn't look like any kind of tape, so I'm...
Thanks Express 390! It is a Lofrans windlass - couldn't tell you if it's a good one though! I see you're on the south shore of LI - so am I. Currently docked at Leeward Cove Marina (Dublin Deck). Are you close by?
Hi all - previous owner said he never used the windlass so I would guess it's been at least 5 years since it was last operated. Pretty sure everything is original.
My issue:
I turn on the main windlass switch, lights up, so all good there. Using toggle switch, solenoids at stern and bow click...
Makes sense if the fill hole is also the vent, then a full funnel won't flow. I'll try the syringe or turkey baster and report back. Thanks to all who responded!
Thanks LD - my plug looks exactly like the Google pix. The fluid is about a third full - the previous owner told me there was leak, so I just wanted to fill and see where the leak is from. Yes, I fully retracted the tabs first.
Hi - when attempting to fill the Bennett trim tab reservoir for the first time, I removed the lexan cover, pulled out the fill plug on the left side, put in a funnel, poured auto xmission fluid into funnel and the fluid did not go down. Had to pull a full funnel away (making a mess) to see what...
I feel pretty embarrassed now - all I had to do was flip the AC Converter switch and all good! Thanks Lazy Daze and Boatrboy!
Also, as suggested, I have been collecting the sub-system manuals, so I think I'm all set. Thanks again to all who replied.
Thanks again. I know the shore power switch was on and getting 120v on the meter, but not sure if the AC converter switch was. I'll check that and let you know. If it was on, I'll start a new thread as suggested. One more thing I noticed - when shore power is on, the green "power" light...
Thank you both for your responses! This is a "new" boat for me, and I am fairly new to boating in general, and appreciate your help. Although I am new to boating, I am very handy and mechanically inclined, so I like to do as much work myself given time constraints (not retired - yet), not only...
