Hi - been trying to find both the Owners Manual (not supplements) and Service Manual for my 1999 270 Sundancer, no success Any ideas? Thanks.

I have 2000 270 Sundancer what are you looking for? Maybe I can copy what you need and email it to you?

The supplement is specific to a certain model - so that's the one you want. If you don't see the correct one on SR's site for your model year, try a couple model years forward or back.

There were two different models of 270DA's made in '99, so it's important to know which one you have (SE... narrow beam, or the "regular" 270DA... wide beam). Check the SR archives for more info. It'd be good to add that info to your signature.

There is no such thing as a service manual for the boat. You can purchase a service manual for the engine, though, through any Mercruiser shop or online.

Thank you both for your responses! This is a "new" boat for me, and I am fairly new to boating in general, and appreciate your help. Although I am new to boating, I am very handy and mechanically inclined, so I like to do as much work myself given time constraints (not retired - yet), not only to save $$ but also as a learning experience, thus the desire for a service manual. As suggested, I will try to get the individual subsystem manuals. The beam is 9'2", so I guess I have the "regular" DA model.

At the moment, I do have an issue with the battery charger - please let me know if I should start a new thread: its a ProNautic 12.10P. None of the indicators light up, I thought once shore power was on it would start charging? Is this true, and if so how would you go about troubleshooting? I can't locate the manual (only the 12.60). Thanks.

Great boat :) I would do a little searching first to see if your issue was discussed here, and if not then start a new thread with a clear title and I'm sure you get some great advice.

Oh yea- verify the switch is on over the stove

A 1210 is quite undersized. That's 10a being split up to however many batteries you have. Most likely, the original charger was a ProMariner Flyback 20a charger.

But, you do have to turn on the charger as well as shorepower. First confirm you have full AC power on the meter in the panel. The "charger" breaker is typically labelled "converter" as it's "converting" DC to AC. A little confusing when you're looking for something labelled "battery charger". Does that "fix" the problem?

Thanks again. I know the shore power switch was on and getting 120v on the meter, but not sure if the AC converter switch was. I'll check that and let you know. If it was on, I'll start a new thread as suggested. One more thing I noticed - when shore power is on, the green "power" light above the "reverse polarity" light does not illuminate - wonder if that's a sign something else is up, or maybe a burnt bulb?

Tough to say without checking it out. The MDP (panel) comes out real easily to give you access to the backside to check for power at various places. Also... just try something plugged into the outlets... or the fridge on AC only... or, your galley light might be a dual voltage light with two bulbs and two switches (try the AC side of it).

IF you have AC power everywhere, but the charger still isn't working, check for incoming V at the charger and/or on both sides of the breaker.

I feel pretty embarrassed now - all I had to do was flip the AC Converter switch and all good! Thanks Lazy Daze and Boatrboy!
Also, as suggested, I have been collecting the sub-system manuals, so I think I'm all set. Thanks again to all who replied.

You do realize you used up your one "free fix" for the season, right? :)

LOL yes - and I would guess my future problems will not be so easily solved!
