    Ignition control module

I appreciate the feedback and suggestions. If finding a replacement module was as easy as just ordering one (which it should be), I would certainly go that route. But apparently it’s not! I’m going to research changing out to a complete new distributor/ignition setup. Knowing that I can get...

    Ignition control module

I swapped out the module from the starboard engine (which had started right up) to the port, and it started immediately. Before spending $590 on a replacement, i think exploring other distributor options are in order. I can probably come close to changing out the distributors on both...

    Ignition control module

I have a 1996 370 Sundancer with carb’d 7.4L V drives. On trying to get engines started this weekend, I could not get my port engine two fire at all. Went through the basics of fuel, spark, and air. Was missing spark. I tracked it down to the ignition control module. I’ve got a pair of pics...

    Generator battery exploded

That's pretty much what I thought. Will the OEM charging system be compatible with the AGM batteries?

    Generator battery exploded

As far as AGM batteries go, can you have a mixture of flooded and AGM in the battery bank. I guess what I'm asking is can I replace the old batteries one at a time as they start to go bad with new AGM batteries, or do I need to replace all four at the same time?

    Generator battery exploded

Well I can tell you that this battery issue has been a relatively cheap learning experience, and a lesson was learned. Battery maintenance is now on the checklist...

    Generator battery exploded

I have never left a battery on a charger full time before owning a boat like this, and never even thought about the possibility of a battery exploding. I completely understand what you guys are telling me, and in hindsight it makes perfect sense. Those batteries are going to be checked very...

    Generator battery exploded

Yesterday evening I attempted to start my generator to let it run and get some stabilized fuel in the lines and carb. The second I hit the start button from inside the cabin at the panel, I hear a very loud bang that scared the &@€* out of me. Couldn't get up those stairs fast enough, open the...

Removing bird droppings from my fiberglass desk

i guess that I'm new to the never ending battle with spider droppings on my boat...ugh! But my marina carries the Starbrite bird and spider droppings remover. I have to admit that this product works like magic. Too bad it isn't available in a gallon size.

    Official 370 Sundancer thread

I don't think my opinion is worth that much, but I don't think I'd jump to quick on rebuilding those transmissions. Mine clunk like crazy when I shift into gear, and I have just under 1500 hrs on them. In the middle of the night, I'm sure they were plenty loud.

    Official 370 Sundancer thread

I appreciate the info on rebuilding that filter. I ordered a new one on Amazon, should be here today. But I'm going to rebuild the old one and keep it for a spare. Although I don't intend for this to ever happen again. There is so much to learn about owning a boat like this.

    Official 370 Sundancer thread

I have made the unfortunate newbie mistake of letting my holding tank get pretty much full, and winding up in some very choppy conditions on a windy day. And now I get quite a malodorous smell when we flush, even tho we've pumped out the honey pot. So from my research on here, I need to replace...

    Official 370 Sundancer thread

As a new 1996 370 DA owner, I just love this thread. Collectively there is more knowledge here on this particular model of boat than I think you could find anywhere, on any model.

    New boat, first trip

I appreciate all of the encouraging comments. Been a little busy over the last week. Just a little update, finally made it to my final destination on Kentucky Lake. Took right at 10 days. Which is longer than I had planned. But between weather, and some very long waits to get through a couple...

    New boat, first trip

Thank You. We are doing this at mostly trawler speed, trying to get about 50 or so miles a day depending on how locks go, and suitable marinas on the way. Going to be right at 448 miles for the trip

    New boat, first trip

Hello CSR, I just took possession of a new to me '96 370 Sundancer. Picked the boat up at Chickamauga Lake outside of Chattanooga Tn, and driving her to Kentucky Lake. So far it's been an adventure locking through, and weathering a serious thunderstorm, at the same time. My wife has been a...

    1996 370 Sundancer??

My sea trial went great as well. Survey was much better than expected on a 23yr old boat. Moisture readings on haul out were well within limits, and I am one happy guy. I'll say again that I have a lot to learn! I apologize in advance for the dumb questions to follow

    1996 370 Sundancer??

I have a mechanical check on the drivetrain and genset scheduled for this Thursday with a sea trial. If that goes to my satisfaction, then a full survey on Monday. Holding my breath.
