I had the same problem. The field fix did not work in my case. I sent back the broken charger and ProMariner replaced the charger at no cost. They stand behind their product and the customer service is great.. Hope you get resolution....
It looks like a charcoal filter for your head holding tank vent. If the disconnected hose is below the tank you could get an unpleasant surprise discharge in the engine room.... Good luck with your boat..
d-reed, If you have the Tstat cover with four hoses then your problem is an easy fix. The plastic spacer is installed and then the Tstat is installed on top. Then the top gasket is last to be installed. The Tstat is not installed first. It looks strange but is right. I had the same problem that...
On my Sundancer I store the rear bench seat in the mid bunk area. The later models folded into the stern or had storage in the engine area. Good luck with yours, I love mine...

To All, I just installed a new battery charger, a Promariner Prosport 20 Amp. The old one (Original) quit. I have studied all the information in the manual about operation. I am on shore power and should I turn the charger off before starting the engine or not?. Charger is working well.. Thanks
