New Battery Charger

To All, I just installed a new battery charger, a Promariner Prosport 20 Amp. The old one (Original) quit. I have studied all the information in the manual about operation. I am on shore power and should I turn the charger off before starting the engine or not?. Charger is working well.. Thanks

Engine starting doesn't affect the charger. Running alternators also will not adversely affect the charger.
Mine stays on all of the time; shore power, generator running, engines running or any combination thereof.
The charger's rate of charge will be affected by other elements of the boat that are drawing from or charging the batteries.

Yes it has been Jeff - did you sell your aft cabin (Egg Harbor?? - I can't remember) and get the 270?

Tom, Yes I sold the 34 Albin in Florida before I moved to Tennessee in May 2014. Enjoying the Lake Boat 270SD I purchased in March 2018. Take care and hold down the fort.... Jeff

Yep, my P1250 stays on full time. Really fantastic unit. Gentle to batteries.
