    1978 Sea Ray

Mine does not have a stove and only a single engine compartment. She didn’t run when I bought her but I put in a new starter and cleaned the carburator new plugs, wires cap and rotor and she turned right over and ran smooth. Gel coat is good, nothing a good wet sanding and detailing can’t fix...

    Bravo 1 sterndrive rattling

So here’s the update. I’m going with air locked. Today I was preparing to take her out and upon initial start up low gear oil alarm sounds. Reservoir very low. I filled it and no more noise. So I assume the air worked it’s way out and the reserve oil filled the void.

    Bravo 1 sterndrive rattling

Pretty sure alignment is good. All the rattle comes from the upper unit. I Removed the top cover to look inside and it looks good no metal filings or chips gears looks solid

    Bravo 1 sterndrive rattling

I have the alignment tool and it went in perfectly and I was able to turn it with two fingers. I also filled the unit from the bottom with the top screw removed till the oil started to come out.

    Bravo 1 sterndrive rattling

Hello. So 2019, has not been good. I threw a rod in my 1997 5.7 mercrusier. Bought a brand new 5.7 GM Longblock marine engine and swapped it myself. Runs and sounds great except I notice a loud rattle in the upper unit at like 1500-2000 rpm. Any suggestions?

    Beach Anchoring

This past weekend I had what I considered a text book stern in anchoring at the beach. Approx 50’ line of front anchor with2 1/2’ water at stern platform. I walked my rear anchor to the shore line unloaded the boat sat in my beach chair. Then... the tide went out! Thank you Boat Us! My new...

Looking for suggestions and tips on how to successfully anchor at the beach. I’ve seen some boats bow in, others stern in. Benefits to both?

    Updated my interior

Looks Great. I did mine over as well. Don’t know what they were thinking back in 1997 when they designed these interiors.

    New to boating

Yeah we did also on Friday. I knew we were in somewhat shallow water and saw a larger boat a little left of us so I turned a little towards them and got stuck only to find out THEY were stuck. Smh.

    New to boating

My wife and I bought a 1997 Proline Cuttyfish 220 last September. We are looking to learn the Long Island waters places to go and hang out, fishing beaches etc. Docking in Bayshore. We have been launching at Captree and have been out about a dozen times. Still learning the boat but having fun...
