I have a '99 40DB. My boat mech says there is no way he can get to that filter to replace it with out losing 40 pounds or removing the exhaust from the port side Caterpillar. Any one have any secrets on this?

For the life of me, I cannot remember how to get in to the salon steps to clean my air conditioner. On this forum, the fact that the screws are hidden in the carpeting is documented, but two people spent an hour feeling for these hidden screws to no avail. Anyone have a treasure map to post? Or...

Has anyone ripped out the ugly overhead pod and put a flat screen in? I am in Newport RI and would love to remove that "pod" and upgrade to a 22 to 26 inch screen, especially since we now have cable.

I have a diesel '99 400DB with a Westerbeke 8kw geneset. The exhaust has gotten louder and louder over the years. Anyone ever replace the muffler for the genset? Or have similar issue? I also need to replace the head vent filter...who the heck designed that location?
