    Put that one in your files boys and girls!! It's official, not putting the cap on your shore water inlet will cause it to overheat!!! that was it!

    Yes, it is an OMC, and the cap is the metal cap with a rubber washer that goes over where you connect a hose to run the engine while out of the water. It supplies cooling to the engine while running out of the water. OMC Stringer (gasp!!!) also!! but works perfectly!!!!
