    Official 240 Sundancer Thread

Folks... I have a 2007 240 Dancer that I bought new. I know, leave me alone about buying new boats. However I am having problems with the water heater and am looking for a short term fix. The "radiator" hoses running from the engine to the water heater and back serve to heat the "fresh" water...

Rookie mistake on my part. My gearlube for the stern drive was low. That was putting the engine in guardian mode. Added the right amount and now she is running better.

So I got all my overheating issues figured out, new manifolds, risers and thermostat. Engine runs at a steady 156 degrees. Now I cant get the engine to run faster than 3000 ROM which means I am not getting on plane. Bottom has fresh paint and is clean. Any ideas to try before I can the mechanic?

This is for AllTideUp: I installed JL 2x 6.5", 2x 7.7" and a 10" sub in the cockpit with a Memphis Audio amp(inside the cabin behind the light switches) wired to the existing Clarion radio. I left the Panasonic speakers in the cabin. Sounds amazing and you can get the speaker on Amazon. I tell...

At the begining of the year we had some overheating issues. Replaced the manifolds and risers and there is a new impeller on the 5.0 MPI Bravo 3 and the over heating problem seemd to subside. However the temprature seems to flutuate much more than it did several years ago. My range used to be...

Very Nice meeting you and you Family as well, but those Mai Tai's were evil...I should have listened to you. Getting some Roach Hotels tomorrow and they will be installed. I have never seen bugs int he cabin before so I imagine it was a stowaway and not an investation, but I don't want to take a...

    Stowaway/Water Bugs/Roach

Just finished a very nice weekend at Bald Head Island North Carolina. While on my last night I notices a little shadow crawling on the ceiling. It was what is called in the South as a "water bug" or as I like to call it... a big a$$ roach. Not sure if it was a stowaway or if I am feeding another...

    Gel Coat breaks

I wish I had a picture but I have a 240DA and in the last two years I have had the gelcoat crack off, after someone tagged me, on the back of my boat. The spot is on the swim platform where the ladder is. There is an indentation for a grab bar to get on the boat and a corner on both sides of the...

When does a boat become a ship ?

"There is no universal rule to distinguish a ship from a boat. Usually, ships are larger than boats. A commonly used rule of thumb is that if one vessel can carry another, the larger of the two is a ship. As dinghies are common on sailing yachts as small as 35 feet (11 m), this rule of thumb is...

    Porta Potty Issues!

Thank you all. I did a combo of many of the suggestions from you folks. I pumped and rinsed about 3 times and then used a good deoderant and sanitizer. I did that at the begining of the holiday and the toilet area remained stink free. Thanks for the help.
