Yes - communication is key is situations like launching and retrieving. In the past I have been a bit snippy with the wife, so now I just try and remain calm, let her know what I want or what I am doing before I need it done, rather than in the heat of the moment. Yesterday, I spelled out my...
After having a terrible summer of boating this year, with everything from mechanical issues to the captain making some really bad decision, we have FINALLY had a great successful day on the water.
Although retrieval was a bit hectic, a single launch with a ton of people getting off the water...
All - Thanks for the great advice. I ended up changing the oil, and a good thing I did!! Only about 3/4 Qt came out, that was with me adding some. It took just about a Qt and a quarter to refill. There was water in the oil as well, it was all milky when it came out too.
So thanks again, I love...
Hello Newman....
Nice looking boat! Mine is the 21 ft version. The only mod I have made so far is converting over to an alternator from the stator and voltage regulator.
What part of Ohio are you in? I just moved from Ohio last winter.
So far this season has just not been a good one. Between the weather and some mechanical issues we have not had a good boating season. Last weekend I pulled the boat to change the prop due to some damage suffered during the last mechanical failure on the water.
The boat is now sitting in my...
Never mind.... I am having it converted to an alternator. But damn its expensive! Anyone know where to pick a kit up cheap.

Hey Guys - anyone know what it takes to replace a voltage regulator on a 165 HP 87 Seville? Also, does anyone have a part number on that as well?
Thanks for any help!
Do any of you subscribe to a tow service? Sea Tow, BoatUS Tow Service or any others?
We had an issue this weekend on the water, and besides the good folks of the boating community, I really had no idea who to call for assistance. I know I could have called for help on the VHF, but it was not an...
One thing I didn't see someone mention, always unplug your trailer lights. If they are hot (non LED) and they hit the cold water they can pop.
I do like the suggestion of going and watching both in the morning and at the end of the day. My father would always tell me, divorces just about...
I have an '87 Seville open bow, and I just had the cockpit cover made. Its a pretty easy job for someone that can do canvas work. I paid around $500 for mine. If you can't find one, I would suggest contacting some canvas shops.
Heres a link to the photos of how mine turned out...
Thanks Phil - Fremac looks nice, but just too far away. I was going to go check out Ess-Kay this week.
What do you guys look for when looking for a marina?
Hey Guys - just moved to upstate Ny (Syracuse area). Anyone have any recommendations for Marinas on Onedia Lake? We are looking for something on the West end of the lake.
Thanks for any help!
Wow that is some good tarp and frame!! I was thinking of building the frame on the outside, never thought of building it from inside the boat. I have to think this through more before I start building. The wife thinks I a little nuts for trying this....
Does anyone ever build a frame and tarp over their boat? I was thinking of doing this, but I may be over doing things a bit (imagine that).
I was looking at this site and thought it might be a good idea. http://www.creativeshelters.com/
I like this one -...
