I actually don't have a boat. I'm looking to buy one. I'm just wondering if the base color (beige, bone, off white..) that the sea ray classics have is darker in the earlier years?

Anybody know how many different gelcoat colors sea ray used from 84-88? Is there a darker and lighter beige color used through out the years?

Thank you for the links! Yes, I've seen most of those270's but not the 280's. I posted a wanted ad on Craigslist and have gotten two hits! One is an 88, but with twin 4cyls...... Details on the other are incoming.

I agree, shopping for the boat is half the fun. There are only two 270's for sale in VT at this time, depending on the weather I'm going to check out the other tomorrow. There are not many other 270's around, I would have to travel to the great lakes or Mass to find more choices that are worth...

I like the boat, I hope it comes back to be solid with an acceptable amount of moisture! If so that will warrant a full survey and sea trial.

There is another 270 on the northern part of the lake. Its an 85, same price, pics look good, and it has twin v8 230's. I'm going to check this one Tuesday if time permits.

I had my second viewing of the 270 yesterday thatI've had my eye on. For the most part the boat looks good. There are three possible issues, first off I think the front cleat is bleeding through into the cabin. If thats so than I'd guess the balsa core is wet/rotted as well, and to what extent...

I'd say ballpark should be from 1500-2000.. There are a few in Michigan with a trailer so that's not outta the question either. Will a 2500hd chevy pull one of these 270's?

A trailer is yet to be determined. It would be nice! Would a trailer help lower the shipping cost?
