I use an Obrian I think its called the grand le tube, 8ft across, holds 4 kids or 2 adults comfortably. inflatable floor. Its held together for 3 years, both behind my 230 CC and my dads outlaw.( yes I tube behind a speedboat)
Ill second First Borns suggestion. Going from a 3 blade to a 4 blade will bring the boat up on plane alot easier, and be able to cruise at a lower rpm, but youll lose top speed. A 4 blade will "stick" better during cornering (not cavitate). You could possibly go with a same pitch 3 blade...
Hey VT, sometimes the turbulence of the water passing beneath the boat at speed will do that, especially on anything but glass. Both my aftermarket fishfinder and my factory depth finder sometimes do that while on plane. Its the downside of the thru hull transducers.
I dont know if this may help or not, but here is a pic of the cockpit of my 230. (sorry for the quality, pic was taken with cell phone) I used an OPTYX undercar kit made by streetglow. Their sealed LED, the tubes are clear plastic (flex) and have a few different modes, I.E, chase, flash, go with...
Adam here, 23 years old, parts guy for the family diesel truck shop. Been around boats all my life. From my dads 403 olds baja jet boat, to a baja runabout, numerous bass boats, and growin up on the river has always had me hooked. Started off with a 20 ft celebrity runabout, then to my present...
Hey Shilo, I have a 1990 230 CC and absoloutely love it. Very solid boat. plenty of room for an overnight trip, and lots of storage. Searay makes a good boat. First one Ive owned and I dont think youll see me in any other brand again.
The work light bulb seems like a good idea, and I dont even bother with the fresh water system. As for rewinterizing the motor, I can just use a sump pump, muffs and the antifreeze tank at work, because I have no room in the engine compartment whatsoever besides disassembling my rear seat...
Hey guys,
Been awhile since I last posted, but I have a question. Its been in the 50's all week here in central Pa, and the weatherman says its going to be the same next week. Now Im trying to decide wether to cut off the shrink wrap and start dewinterizing my 230, or waiting until the beginning...
Thats what I might have to do. Im drivin myself nuts trying to figure it out haha.
On a calm day on glass I can see 58 GPS. just cruisin right around 35. I had an 84 celebrity 188V before this and this ray blows that thing out of the water in terms of ride. I love it.
Thanks for the help guys.
The seating arrangement is exactly like the P22, but my boat is marked 230 on the side. Heres the link to the place I bought it from, I got it about a month ago put it on the water twice and wrapped it up. boat is in my posession.
What do you think...
I looked at that last night, but like I said mine doesnt have the back to back seating, and it has a bench seat in the rear and the engine hatch has a sunpad on top of it. There isnt an engine box. You have to lift the hatch to get to the engine, it doesnt pull out and its 3 seperate pieces...
Hey guys, I have a 1990 230 cuddy. Ive been researching, and it seems like these were supposed to have back to back seating in the driver and copilot area, and an engine cover with 2 jumpseats in the back. Mine doesnt. Its has bucket seats in front with a large engine hatch/sunpad/storage...
