Those are a couple good ideas. I had thought of the on/off valve system and it should work fine. I was hoping for something that didn't require changing things around when switching engines. Does a conversion to hydraulic steering solve the problem??

The old and the new. Stainless tubing ~$23 from Amazon. Squeeze in vise. Drill new holes. Done. Wall thickness is actually thicker than the original.

So "dev", are you saying that there is no room between the Y pipe and the transom to get at the nuts, or the Y pipe blocks any access? It looks like if I removed the 2 inside manifolds I could reach the lower Y pipe area but it sounds like that might not give necessary access. All assembled...

That's a good idea tdappleman. I didn't know that a macerator pump would pull up like that. What brand pump did you use? I wonder about different size boat fittings and macerator inlets. Thanks for the help.
