    westerbeke 3.0 MPV for 2010 280 DA

Great video. After owning the MPV, are there any things you would've done differently? It sounds like a 5W gen really isn't necessary on this size boat.

    westerbeke 3.0 MPV for 2010 280 DA

I'm thinking about having my marina add a Westerbeke generator to my 2010 280 Sundancer, 496 MAG. Accessories include 8,000BTU A/C/Heat, water heater, microwave, 1,500 Watt built in Grille. The boat is in a lake and gen will get light use on weekends. I'm considering the 3.0W Westerbeke MPV...

    2008 260 vs 2006 280

I was almost in exactly the same position a few months ago. I was comparing a new leftover 2008 260 to a 2006 280. I can't comment on price, as so much has to do with condition and geographic region. On Lake Winnipesaukee in NH, we're geographically somewhat isolated and a pristine 2006 280...

    2008 260 vs 2006 280

These are two completely different boats. The only similarity is they are close in weight. You didn't mention the engine/drive combo, but in general the 260 typically has a 350 MAG B3 which some consider marginal power when loaded with passengers. The 260 also has been noted for tender...

    The official 2009 270DA ~ 2010 280DA thread

My 2010 280 DA has the teak cockpit table with sunpad option. There is a plastic, hinged pad that has velcro strips to hold the filler cushion. I place a towel between the table and plastic pad because I don't want to scratch the table. Does anyone know where the dedicated storage is for...

    underpowered and frustrated

I don't think the 6.2L is considered a big block. I've heard it has more top end than the 5.7L, and about 320 hp. The big blocks, 7.4L and 8.1L, have more torque at the low end, and are 310hp and 375hp, respectively.

will xantrex pro 1800 power 1300W grill?

Thanks for the input. I think I'm leaning towards the inverter solution, because it appears to be the most convenient, clean, quiet, and the safest. From your comments, I'm concerned that the dealer has undersized the system, though. Is the 1800W inverter large enough for the 1300 Watt...

will xantrex pro 1800 power 1300W grill?

New 2010 boat has factory installed Kenyon electric grill, 1300W, but no generator. Marina is suggesting Xantrex pro 1800 inverter with two add'l deep cycle class 27 batteries w/ isolator, or a marine generator. Also posted in sport cruiser forum to discuss merits of generator or inverter...

Kenyon grill power issue for 2010 280DA

I'd appreciate any suggestions or comments for this strange problem. I recently took delivery of a new 2010 280 DA with factory installed Kenyon electric grill. Boat was a dealer swap, just about loaded, but doesn't have a generator. I'm not a handy guy, so the voltage specs didn't alert me...

I believe 454's were phased out around 2001 for that boat. The option after that was a 6.2, and 496's were available for 2005 - 2008. When comparing years, the dry weight in the early 2000's was about 6,200 lbs, and the model had grown to 7,900 lbs by 2008. The 2005 - 2008 models had a 21...

    The official 2009 270DA ~ 2010 280DA thread

Hello, Add one more 2010 280DA to the forum. I took delivery last month, and found posts on this forum very helpful, especially posts from Dave S as I was strongly considering a leftover 260. This is my third Sea Ray, and we have only had a few minor issues so far and are very pleased with...

Hello, I was looking at trading my 2007 240 Sundeck with 350 MAG in for a leftover 2008 260DA. I was disappointed in the power and wasn't used to the high rpm's it took to get on plane. I also found the boat "tipsy", and didn't like the tendency to list without the use of trim tabs. A person...
