I purchased my 2010 18.5 Sport from Prince William Marina and they Rock!!! Their customer service and service department are great. Enjoy your new boat.
I hope that was my problem because other than that the boat this great on the water open throttle (52 mph) for a minute or so. This past Saturday I took my boat for the last time before winterization in the Potomac River, left Port Tobacco, put gas in Aqualand Marina, drove to Colonial Beach...
The boat was not loaded at all except a full tank of gas. The only thing that I do recalled is that when I hitched the boat and arrived at my destination, the boat was not completely winched (not touching the rubber piece on the trailer) maybe 2 inches away from the rubber stopper of the bow.
My boat stays in the boatel unless I have to take the boat to the dealer and at that time I use my 2010 trailer to haul my 185 Sport. Here is my question, the last time I used the trailer was probably 4 weeks ago. This weekend, when I hitched the trailer and took the boat out of the water and...
They said that gear and trim fluid are not consumable unless their is a leak. I dont know about coolant or transmission fluid. The last two fluids does not apply on my 185 Sport with an Alpha drive.
Make it a project, call the service dept and tell them that you have a Sea Ray model X with a Merc and you were told from one of the maintenance class attendees on 23 Sep that the majority of Merc engines burn oil. Here is their toll free phone number 1- 800-772-3240.
Wow, they stated Mercruiser in general. If you dont believe me contact Prince William Marina in Woodbridge VA and asked the service manager. Either way I am happy to heard that burining oil is probably a minority and not a majority of people. Thanks
I went to a newcomers maintenance class sponsored by my Sea Ray and we were told that the majority of all Mercruiser engines burn oil. The normal ratio is 1 quart per 8-10 hours and more if you water ski. Did you know that?
I attended last night to maintenance class provided for free for new owners of Sea Ray. I brought the point of the horn, and I was told by the senior technicians that the horn is not a good design, they are trying to get a different horn installed with all new Sea Ray's. I was told to make a...
I understand your point of drilling a small hole, but if you do not drill a hole then the horn fills with water when raining or riding on choppy waters. It does not make sense the design of the horn..:(
This past weekend my horn was not working on my 18.5 Sport. I checked the fuse, no problem, then I went to the front of the bow and I pulled the two screws and remove the horn piece. When I shaked the horn piece it has water. As soon as I shaked the water off, the horn start functioning a bit...
I have a a new 2010 18.5 Sport with 4.3L Merc and have a newbie question. My engine have a drain knob in top of the motor. My cruising area is on the Potomac River near the 301 bridge/Port Tobacco, MD area. Will I do any damage to my motor if I drain the block at the end of each day before the...
Hi everyone. I am new to the forum and have a few questions. Purchased late in the Season a new 2010 Sea Ray 18.5 Sport. Now I have over 10 hours on the motor. Is time soon to have the boat winterized. My question is the manufactury manual requires to change the fluids between 20-25 hours. I...
