    245 Cuddy/Fisherman Owner - Finally!

Found it late last fall, but the weather never cooperated for a sea trial. Finally had a chance, and picked it up this weekend. Seems to be in fantastic condition (freshwater, always garage kept). The rain's finally letting up, so I hope to be able to start playing with it this afternoon...

How much did an SRV-240/245 cost, in the 70's/80's?

Yea. I'm thinking you could still buy a decent, new car for around $10K. I figured boats were probably close. The one I'm watching is asking around $8K. Really impresive if you could keep a boat for 30 years, and only lose a couple grand on it (that's about $100/year to own) - Wow!

How much did an SRV-240/245 cost, in the 70's/80's?

Asked this in the broker's section, but didn't get a response... I'm wondering what an average MSRP was for a 24' cuddy cabin, in the late 70's, early 80's? I found a nice one, but the asking price is pretty high. Made me wonder how much it was new. $10K, $20K, 30K, etc.? I'm just looking...

24' - What WAS an average MSRP (late 70's, early 80's)?

I'm looking at SRV-240/245's from this era. Found a nice one, but the asking price is close to $8K. I'm guessing it probably didn't cost much more than this when it was new. Hoping it has depreciated a little more than that, in 30 years . Just wondering - without being too specific...

Older ones - How do they Handle? (SRV-20)

This boat has the "closed deck" (not a bow rider, nor a cuddy). Will it plane-out O.K. without weight up-front? (Normally when we're skiing, we have people sit in the bow, but can't do that on this boat). How bad is the bow rise and/or does it tend to "porpoise" with a lot of people in the...

Older ones - How do they Handle? (SRV-20)

I'm looking at a 1979 SRV-20. It looks like a good boat, for the price. I'd like to know a little about how the older hulls perform, especially in choppy water. I just got rid of a Stingray, partially because I couldn't take it out in rough weather. I was planning on a bigger boat, but...
