Sorry for the confusion, it is not EFI, it has a 2 bbl carb. The fuel filter was changed Friday afternoon. I asked a friend of mine and said it may be old gas, could this be?

I put this engine in alittle over a year ago. The mechanic that put the engine in did the heads before the engine went in. I also rebuilt the carb and rebuilt the lower unit. No it doesn't miss on idle. I did notice I am missing the exhaust bellow.

Ok, I checked the parts manual and it told me part# 807653T (65amps) is the correct alternator for my engine. Now that I go to replace the old one, the old one says part# 807652 with is a 55 amp alternator. Would it be okay to use the 65 amp instead of the 55 amp?? I have no idea!!! Thanks...

Skolbe, thanks for the reply. I have 2 pulleys that look like pucks. One is by the power steering bracket (above the alternator) and the second one is to the left (I believe it is on the Idler bracket, per the online parts diagram). I'm assuming you are talking about the one on the idler bracket?
