Thanks all, for your input. The T-5.0 was sold so made the decision a little easier. Did the sea trial with the 350s' and was VERY happy with performance. Now negotiating with dealer (ugh).

Has anyone had a purchase experience, trying to effect a trade in, where dealer is not local? Is it virtually impossible to pull off (transport costs, dealer will want to inspect the boat)? Any advice/tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
The boat we are interested in is a 2008 demo model, never owned, for sale by a Sea Ray dealer. I'm trying to figure out what I consider to be a fair purchase price for the boat. Looking up the retail value for the 2008 boat turns up prices that assume it's 'used' - almost 50% off the original...

Thanks for reply. Can you pls elaborate about leaving BR3 drives in salt water? Would appreciate benefiting from your knowledge. Our current boat has BR3 drive and is in a [salt water] slip for the season. Is it mineral accumulation will cause increased drag? Wouldn't any drive be affected?
Our salesman says that a 290SS with twin 5.0 BR3 will be a difficult sell at Jersey Shore b/c the engines will not perform well in the ocean. Can anyone offer comments/opinion?
