    Bravo III problem

I had the same situation. Purchased the boat in August, took it in after 2 trips on the lake for a "once over" and they found the coupler was about to give out. OK, $1500 later (give or take $100) and the coupler was renewed. They had to pull the engine and drop the drive. My guys said...

Pulling a 270DA with an Expedition

I challenge anybody to compare brake sizes of a 2004 Expedition and a 3/4 ton or 1 ton pickup truck. I challenge anybody to compare the ring and pinion gears of a 2004 Expedition to a 3/4 ton or 1 ton pickup truck. Tranny, engine, etc. The list goes on. Sure, the man could do it, but...

Pulling a 270DA with an Expedition

NO. Simply put, you can, in all reality move that boat, at least get it started, with my John Deere 22 hp lawn mower. Getting it stopped is a different story all together. Don't forget, if you have an accident and the insurance fellas realize you've exceeded your manufacturer's towing...

    Is the west coast alive.

I brought our 240DA up to Powell and stored it for the summer yesterday. What a trip...blowout about 50 miles south of Flagstaff and pulled into Discount Tire with a bulge on another tire. Needless to say, $600 and 5 new tires later, I was back on the road!

Who is going to Lake Powell this summer?

We store our boat (as of next Wednesday) in Big Water and either launch at Stateline or Wahweap, whichever has better water conditions. We usually just putz around on the southern end of the lake, find a beach for the day for lunch and exploration, then head back to the marina. We usually...

Buying a Used Sea Ray (How To Spot Trouble)

I realize this is an ancient thread, but I thought I'd throw in my experiences in there in case somebody is still having questions about this process. I recently purchased a used 2001 240 Sundancer. I DID NOT have a surveyor look at it. I felt reasonably comfortable with the person I...

    5.0L Bravo3 vrs 350MAG Bravo 3

Morning. My 240 has the venerable 6.2L 320hp engine coupled up with a Bravo III. I do believe this was the biggest engine and biggest drive combination that they offered in the 240, although I'm not entirely sure. I think 6.2L equates to 377 cubic inches, which is a 400 crank shoved into a...

    Official 240 Sundancer Thread

Thanks again Mike! Believe it or not, I searched for a 240 'Dancer for 4 months because I wanted one with the elusive 6.2L in it and I wouldn't settle for anything else. Found it in Utah, drove it home, and have been anxiously awaiting summer ever since. I came from a 2003 Nordic 25...

Really late entrance here, but I finally found this place after SRO dumped me like a cheap date. Looking forward to reading, posting, and finding entertaining tidbits. Toby
