Interesting...Hilary was an OCA(original classification authority), of course she couldn't remember how many times she used that authority or if she had been shown how to use it, she couldn't even tell the FBI how classifications were determined.

Hilary just relied on others to send the right stuff, she couldn't recall receiving anything that she thought shouldn't be on her unclassified system. Hilary relied a lot on others, like sorting through her digital documents. There were thousands of them, stuff was missed more than once by them, but it's understandable, there were so many.

The FBI showed Hilary copies of her e-mails from Confidential to Top Secret/SAP and Hilary said she didn't think they contained Classified material.

Maybe Hilary makes a point... if there is no Classified info in a Classified document, then?????? I've read that often that is actually the case...kind of, Classification is in the eye of the beholder. That way of thinking could also explain how it was that every subpoenaed e-mail that Hilary destroyed was called 'personal'.

The president is sort of the "Head OCA" in the way the system works; I doubt that any given president knows any more about the details than Secretary Clinton did. Officials at these levels necessarily have to rely on others. It seems to me that neither Secretary Clinton nor President Trump was very good at that.
Clinton's emails were a bit different than the current controversy with President Trump. In her case, there were portions of the emails that were determined after the fact to contain classified information, so yes, based on the eye of the beholder. In a document (or an email on an official classified-capable system), every paragraph is marked with its classification. So, there could be numerous classified paragraphs or only one, or a mixture. For example, a publication might have 10 unclassified paragraphs and 1 TS-SCI paragraph; that would make the entire document TS-SCI.
