Official 380 Thread

Just got the 2001 AC Layout from SeaRay so that I can find the Thru-Hulls. Hopefully this will help someone out in changing out the AC and hoses.
Finally got to the last two stainless thru hulls for the air conditioning units. Took the cabinet drawers out in the stateroom and could see it but couldn’t get to it. Had to take out the whole cabinet. And there she was. And dassit

I posted in the classified, but wanted to let this group know

WTB-1999-2004 cockpit table/pad/short post.

For those that have upgraded to the beautiful teak table, here is a change to recoup some of your cost. I live near st.Louis Missouri zip code 62040

thank you
Chris

How does one remove both the captain and passenger seats at the helm? Tried doing a search but can't limit to just this thread.

The double helm seat “arch” has 4 through bolts for each leg that mounts. They are double nutted, so you will need a couple wrenches to remove each. Iirc the seat bottom of the double help is just some Phillips screws that hold it down. You access all of this from the storage compartment

The captains seat has 4 screws that you access from beneath it. You have to slide the seat all the way forward to access 2 of them. Then slide it all the way aft to access the last 2 it’s just a Phillps screw

@Chris-380 thanks for the quick response. Other than knowing where to look, is there a way to search for this in this thread? Hate bugging folks if I can just find it myself.

This is a new to me boat. In the process of pulling both CAT 3116s (already pulled the Westerbeke genny) so my splash date is next April. Really would prefer to focus on the systems rather than cosmetics.
Most of the vinyl is just really dirty, the helm double seat is the one that's not salvageable. The vinyl is cracked really bad on the companionway side.

Here is the difference, with a quick Acetone cleaning. Yes, I know Acetone is BAD so no flames please. Followed up with 303 protectant.

I just new it was in this thread and used the search engine for it, had a bunch.

a lot of times I Google “www.clubsearay official 380” and add remove captains seat or whatever I have a question for.
This is a great group, don’t waste a ton of time searching. If you don’t find it right away, ask, like you did.

hen I first got my 380, I read that entire thread. Then the next winter I did again, a lot of good info. So many good people in here will help save you time

Do'h! Seeing as I was early in the internet days when 'term hit highlighting' was invented, I should have known better. This was back in the original CGI-bin days.

Thanks again.

I am about to install a dedicated Victron 2000 multi inverter / charger with a 206 ah Lithium battery in the port bedroom cabinet. This will run both the Frig and Freezer plus the KVH sat, dish Wally and small TV. Interested to hear if anyone else has done a similar project?

Not in a Sea Ray but a Beneteau 361. Typically, you want to match 100Ah of LiFePO4 (Lithium Ion) to 1Kw of inverter.
I installed 3 100Ah BattleBorn drop in batteries, so installed a 3Kw Multiplus Inverter/Charger. Feel free to reach out and I'll be happy to send you a wiring diagram.
You have to 'solve' the charging process for the batteries. I settled on Victron Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC chargers. You cannot link the batteries directly to the engine alternators. You will also more than likely need to upgrade the alternators with LI mapped voltage regulators. I went with Balmar.

What is the difference between an 02 380 with 8.1 and the later 06+ besides the transom door location and Upton minor seating change?
