And how distributor bitch and cry that end users (you guys) won’t take a 5% increase when my costs go up for taps and drills. lol.
Only 5 % I own a Heat & Air Wholesale distribution business and one of our A/C equipment suppliers announced 3 price increases last year of 12% / 8% & another 12% and now effective June 1st another 12%

They haven’t found any evidence that it’s the plants fault. Leaning to the parents screwing up.. just a gong show
Well I struck out twice this weekend at Costco and jewel. It’s just nuts.

If an asteroid hit the US you would blame him. Have fun. He can’t fix it any more than any other global leader can in their country. It is a global very complex thing that is going on. Not one man’s deeds or lack of deeds. But keep your head in the sand if it makes you happy.
Bull crap. We had vaccines being tested in a matter of months.

My son found 2 containers at target for my daughter …… this is a shit show that’s going to get ugly soon

thank-you so much for looking though

I drove 75 miles today to empty my black water tank before we go to Europe for almost 3 weeks. Been drinking all day, showered, now reading this shit show spearheaded by Creekwood and I can’t stop laughing.

Sorry, this was meant to be a PM.

Jaybeaux
Wow… 75 miles for black water ?….. 3 weeks in Europe ?……. You suck at starting boating season

@Creekwood ...don't take this the wrong way but the president of the U.S. has much more political pull than the Prime Minister of Canada. The decisions made here move markets.
The first day in office he shut down the pipelines. That was step 1 in him manipulating the oil markets/fuel prices. That's like giving your toolbox to your neighbor that you don't have a good relationship with then complaining when you can't fix anything cause you don't have any tools

Man I hate sounding like I am defending Biden. I agree the US has influence over things on the global stage. But in the free capitalism that is global commodity markets, he can not directly or in the short term change prices. The Middle East is profiting immensely from high oil prices. So are US domestic oil companies (and Canadian too). Biden did not “shut down pipelines”. What he did was kill development of some pipelines. That has zero impact on short term pricing. The main one he killed was Keystone XL. Which is a pipeline that was to take Canada’s oil sands output to the US. Which would benefit Canada as much or more that the US. So I thought that was a stupid move on his part. But that project was dead before DJT resurrected it. And oil prices did not plummet when DJT resurrected it. It simply does not impact short term oil prices. I know you follow markets and are a smart guy. And you said you follow mathematical market analysis, not necessarily long term economic fundamentals, but this time, you are not correct in directly linking Biden to gasoline price spikes this past year.
The only thing he can do now to drop oil prices in the US, is to legislate US oil companies to drop their prices. That will never happen in the most capitalist country in the world. The republicans would never allow it. The big oil lobby would spend huge amounts of that treasure chest they are building to fund whatever political candidate that would kill it.

The play on linking oil prices to Biden is a political play only. So play it that way. Politicians lips moving means they are lying. Same for the big money backing them.

For reasons completely unrelated to oil pricing, I hope that the GOP can find a leader, future POTUS, that reflects the views of the right and the middle left and can get elected and stabilize the country. So do what you can to make that happen.

@Creekwood my good man, this is abso-freaking-lutley not true.
It is abso-freaking-lutely true.
Tell me exactly what he can do, in the short term, to reduce global oil prices? Specifically. Because he is so freaking desperate to keep the Dems in power, that he would do whatever is possible to do that. And he can't. Why:
1. Its not possible
2. Even if it was possible, the Republicans will NEVER let him do anything to be a success in doing so. The GOP needs gas prices to stay high as long as possible so they can continue to blame him through November at least. Its very good for their positioning, because guys like you buy into it.

Piling on to my own post.
One of the "flaws" in free democracies and democratic republics is that it is designed to encourage the minority/opposition party to prevent the party in power from being successful. The minority has to carefully pick its ground to quietly support what they agree with, without looking like they support the party leading government.

So it is heavily reliant on the ethics and morality of the politicians to "do the right thing for the people", sometimes not along party lines. And ethics and morality are scarce at times in politicians.

But the alternative is fascism, communism, dictatorships. So that is not an alternative. So "we the people" need to be careful who we put in power.

Can’t we just agree Biden is an asshole and move on…. These long posts are killing me

Clueless. When Biden’s policies are 100% anti Oil it effects the price of oil. Market participants are looking at the future and when the US restricts supply, now and in the future, it effects pricing.

The dumbchit in chief can do several things to open up supply and be pro oil. He won’t because the crazies in his party, ie AOC, will go bat chit crazy. They hate the USA and will do anything to “fundamentally change” it.

Apparently CW has never seen the price of oil move in reaction to just the US President giving a speech.

I can't figure out how it is more environmentally friendly to ship oil from foreign countries to here to refine instead of thru a pipeline from Canada...
I can give you the answer but it is not satisfying. First we think logically, they emotionally, they are easily manipulated. Buffet owns the trains that move the oil that will lose if the pipeline is completed.

I agree 100%. But that pipeline decision has zero effect on todays oil prices.

Guys, you are being so naïve and inflammatory. I get it, you hate Biden. But if you are going to believe things you hear without actual knowledge of the actual issues, you need to make sure you know what you are talking about.

Please explain what you mean by "open up supply". That is a simplistic thing to say that has no meaning. There is no "supply" to open up that is not already open and operating in a free market. But my all means, educate me on where this supply is and how it can be "opened up". Strategic oil reserves are a potential, but they are there there for a reason, and it is not for consumer price smoothing. They are already being tapped and drawn down, but that is a risky strategy and only "blips" prices for a millisecond.
